Women getting on boards – Congratulations

Sunday, June 06, 2010

We’re five months into 2010 and already 14 women have been appointed onto boards.  The ASX Corporate Governance Guidelines will be changing soon in regards to gender diversity, and companies are finally taking a serious look at their talented women. The constant work of organisations such as Women on Boards, who notified me of these exciting appointments, continues to advance working women.

Congratulations to Carolyn Hewson joining BHP Ltd, Jillian Broadbent joining ASX Ltd, Jane Hemstritch joining Santos Ltd, Sandra McPhree joining Fairfax.

A big congratulations to Phillipa Stone joining the David Jones board, and Christine Nixon joining the Fosters board, new entrants to the ASX200.

Let’s keep at it women! If you are board ready, now is the time to get out there. To find out more from Women on Boards about their gender diversity activities this year click here.
